Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She was first within her age bracket to be a member of the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her childhood years were split between London in London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi at the tender age of 13. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school diploma. The career of Anouskha as a recorder and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her age. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has done so for a long time years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. She released Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years after. Because she has performed on all the major stages in all over the globe, her career on stage has been extensive. Anoushka isn't just a performer. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The Love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which is a honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was an Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka continues to grow in her career and we can expect many other things to be expected from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday she made her debut performing the sitar before the crowd of at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Anoushka, who accompanied her father during his world tour, gained a remarkable quantity of knowledge. In her teenage years she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison.
