Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on that part of the island of Montreal called the West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of diverse communities. Many who've never been aware of it frequently think it is a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa, Ontario. Early ambitions were to become a dancer. However, a growth increase caused her to surpass every dance partner she had. In an article from The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. Once I was bigger than the size of my male companion then I slowed down. A lot of former dancers go on into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was a nudge from an instructor in drama at high school that encouraged her to go in that direction. The teacher suggested she try to find a role in the school's annual show. She was chosen to play the lead part in Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with the Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. In the past 20 years, her work has been featured on both the large and small screen. Her work gained most fame when she was offered the character of Rita in the acclaimed television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member during Season 1 of the series, and not seen much.
